“Thank you for making our holiday so comfortable and enjoyable.  We’ve all got such happy memories of our time a Budle Falls, and of sunning ourselves at Bamburgh Beach, and cooling off in the sea.  And having birthday tea outside on the lawn was a wonderful highlight.” CR and family

“We came here for my 40th birthday… and oh my goodness, it has been amazing. Allison and all the family have been on hand with anything we needed – fantastic hospitality. We’ve had a camp fire, fed sheep, been to Bamburgh, Ross, Seahouses for a boat trip and loads more. The cottage is so, so homely, we were so comfy, despite being sleep deprived with our teething baby! I think our son will totally miss the 2 pigs and lambs, as will we! Thank you very, very much for our holiday, we would love to return in the future.” Jane and family

“We’ve had a fabulous week – great weather after a dodgy start. The welcome was great and our son has been playing with Allison’s children on a fair few occasions, starting with camp fire marshmallow fest on our first evening! We’ve had trips to some great beaches – Ross, Bamburgh, Embleton and Seahouses. East 20 minute walk to Ross from car park, and Embleton and Craster via Dunstanburgh Castle is a brilliant walk after lunch at The Jolly Fisherman. One day we walked up the Cheviots – really just an excuse to go to another tea shop – this time at Heatherslaw. Our son liked (far too much) the crazy golf at Seahouses.  Thanks for a memorable week – and that was before Andy Murray! Hope to be back in the future.” Sarah and family

“We have had the most amazing 14 days here. The weather was unbelievable, but we would have loved it even in bad weather. Thank you so much Allison for making our holiday the best ever – thanks especially for my husband’s birthday tea and for sharing his party! My daughter would like to say thank you to Allison’s daughter for being her “big sister” and teaching her bouncing tricks on the trampoline. Some places we enjoyed (bearing in mind we were looking for attractions suitable for a lively 4 year old) included Alnwick Gardens – fantastic lunch in the Treehouse restaurant and then lots of fun in the gardens; Barter Books – amazing bookshop and café in the old railway station (a model train runs around above your head);  Sunnyhills Farm Shop – nice child friendly café with tractors and climbing frame, and great takeaway food in the shop; Heatherslaw light railway; fish and chips in Seahouses – pinnacles was delicious; Ocean Leisure Club is great for swimming and has nice café afterwards; but of course, given the amazing weather we harm we spent most of our time on the beach. We tried a few but our favourite was Bamburgh in front of the castle.” Fiona and family

“What a fantastic little holiday, this was booked as a surprise for my 40th birthday. We had a wonderful time at Budle Falls. The children especially loved the time they spent with Allison’s children and really did not want to leave – they particularly liked playing with the large leaves! Loved Bamburgh, the castle, little shops and pubs, we particularly loved our fun packed days on the glorious beach in the sunshine. We LOVE Northumberland!” Melanie and family

“Our second visit and it was just as fantastic as we remembered first time!  We were greeted by the ever so friendly and polite owner’s 10 year old son who showed us around to see what had changed since our last visit and introduced our children to his sister and other children, which meant we could enjoy a beer in sunshine in the garden while the children played – a perfect start!  A perfect sunny day at Seahouses, picnic on the beach, visit to Bamburgh Castle, “daddy” successfully survived the triathlon despite the chilly sea, and of course we loved walking around the farm and seeing “Annabel” the sheep again!  Thank you for another wonderful weekend, in the words of Arnie, “we’ll be back!” Katie and family

“Lovely cottage, beautifully fitted out with some really nice touches. Great to have wifi, Sky, Wii, DS and DVDs. Fresh eggs were a delight and fun to collect. It was fun herding the hens and there was lots of fantastic play equipment. We loved Budle Peep. The whole coastline is beautiful but we especially recommend Dunstanburgh. Worth having National Trust membership and getting all day parking. We recommend Sunnyhill Farm Shop for lighter snacks, and the Coach Inn at Lesbury for bigger meals – best fish and chips we have ever eaten. Highly recommend to use the butchers in Bamburgh for excellent sausages, ham and sausage rolls – a Rick Stein Hero. Thank you for a lovely stay!!!” Paul and family

“Big thank you to Allison and family for making our first trip to Northumberland very memorable. From the moment we arrived here at Budle Falls, we felt right at home. The farm was filled with jam packed fun and adventure for the kids, collecting eggs was the highlight of our daughter’s morning. From visits to Holy Island, to beautiful beaches like Ross Sands and Bamburgh – there was something truly amazing around every corner. An absolute must if you have kids is a trip to the Heatherslaw Railway at Ford and Etal.  We were sad to leave but couldn’t have asked for a better stay, a great trip before going back to school.. And this is to say nothing of our visit to Holy Island, the Farne islands, Dunstanburgh, Low Newton, Alnwick Castle, Barter Books, Berwick, not to mention every ice cream vendor on the East Coast. All this in a week thanks to the never ending fine suggestions of Allison’s entire family! Thank you all for a very memorable trip and memories we will keep forever. P.S. – Moby will also miss his morning romp with Allison’s dogs Bobby and Hamish!” Rob and family

“We were immediately impressed by this wonderful cottage and it’s lovely surroundings. The little details such as the age appropriate toys for our son; the tour of the grounds and introduction to the animals are what made this holiday a cut above anywhere else we’ve stayed. Our lad particularly loved feeding the ducks and pigs.  Our favourite places were Alnwick Gardens (don’t forget a change of clothes for the kids!); Barter Books – my personal favourite – I could have stayed all day; Low Newton beach – enjoyed a nice drink in The Ship Inn after; Our son loved riding the train at Ford and Etal.  All in all a fantastic holiday and we shall definitely return one day!  Thank you.” Shaun and family

“First of all we would like to thank Allison’s daughter for showing us around the grounds and showing us her amazing bike riding skills – what a delight she is. Feeding the pigs was a great adventure as was collecting the eggs and stroking the sheep. Pooh sticks was great fun for us – not so sure about the ducks!  We’ve had a great stay in your gorgeous cottage; your hospitality and welcome was wonderful and much appreciated. W will return – it’s been a joy.” Joanne and friends on a girlie break

“Fantastic week. Enjoyed the beautiful beaches, boat ride to see the seals, the amazing castle. Great food at The Castle Inn. Lovely warm welcome, Budle Falls has been one of our favourite holidays. Great to feed the animals and go round the trails. We will be back – thank you for a great stay.” Jane and family

“Had a fantastic week at Budle Falls. Allison had laid on lots of special touches to make us feel at home. The kids loved playing with the toys. The farm is fantastic and the kids loved exploring, and feeding the animals. So much to do here that it was hard to encourage the kids away!  We did manage trips to Seahouses soft play/ crazy golf. Very windswept trip to beach. Barter Books is well worth a trip. The Ocean Club is fantastic. Alnwick Castle was good – we learnt to fly broomsticks and dressed as princes and knights – well worth a trip. Billy Shiels 90 minute boat trip around Farne Islands to see grey seals is great. We have had a superb week. Wellies a must. Hopefully see you next year!” The Hughes family

“A wonderful cottage – the more you look, the more you find. We’ve had a fabulous time here, both “home” and throughout Northumberland.  The children loved the toys and all the outside space. Halloween party invite was a thoughtful touch by Allison, my appreciated by the little ones! We walked to Bamburgh a couple of times, catching the bus back; day at Alnwick Castle and it’s gardens; saw plenty of seals at the Farne Islands and had a fantastic day at Cragside an Amazing National Trust house and estate. Many a memory has been had…” Charley and family

“Lovely, lovely cottage. Warm and snug, especially with the log fire burning.  We had a fantastic week with good weather and good walks – sad to go home!” John and family, including pooch

“This was our third visit to Budle Falls. The refreshed cottage is still as inviting and cosy as ever, and the new sofas are very comfy. Our son loved feeding there animals and collecting eggs. Apart from the farm, his favourite place was Barter Books in Alnwick. Can’t wait to come back in the summer.” Heather and family
